Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP)
IONIQ 5 is the first vehicle built on Hyundai’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This dedicated battery electric vehicle platform enables faster charging, increased driving range, more interior space, and better handling. The battery pack’s position within the wheelbase ensures ideal weight distribution between the front and rear and a low center of gravity for improved handling performance.
Innovative Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function
The car can support both 400 V and 800 V charging infrastructures. The multi-charging system is the world’s first patented technology. Using a converter that plugs into the bidirectional exterior charging port, you can power devices up to 3.6 kW even when the vehicle is turned off.
Driver assistance systems.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) With Junction Crossing.
Fast and smooth downshifts. Rev-matching synchronizes engine speed to input shaft speed for the next gear, reducing wear and enhancing durability.
Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA).
Using two radar sensors in the lower rear bumper, the system warns you of traffic in the blind spot area. If you set the turn indicator in such a situation, it will sound an acoustic alert and applies the brake to prevent collision.
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA).
When reversing out of areas with low visibility, the system not only warns you when vehicles approach from the side – it also applies the brakes automatically.
Lane Following Assist (LFA).
By recognizing the lane and the vehicle in front, the system helps the driver keep the vehicle in the middle of the lane.
Driver Attention Warning (DAW).
Monitors the driver’s attention level while driving. Provides a warning when signs of driver inattentiveness are detected and recommends a rest if needed.
